Driving along the Great Ocean Road

Hi readers!

So I just got back from a 5 day road trip along the Great Ocean Road with a group of international students and thought I’d share a few amazing pictures and memories.

*Heads up – I don’t exactly remember the names of every place we visited so I’m going to refrain from listing them off (oops)*

We started our journey just outside of the Melbourne CBD where we met up at Wicked Campers and packed all our stuff in 2 five-person campervans.

Each day we stopped at multiple lookout points along the ocean of course and then made our way to free camping sites where we made dinner and got to know each other a little better.

Here are some of my favourite spots we stopped at.

I was also lucky enough to have my 21st birthday weekend during our trip with one of the girls I had become friends with from Michigan named Meggie. Everyone in our group was so excited to celebrate with us which made the nights we drank together all that more fun.

Another part of this trip I will never forget is having the opportunity to drive on the opposite side of the road than I do at home, with spectacular scenery the entire time. I’ve always loved driving so I was a little too excited to try it out in Australia and lucky for everyone in our campervan, I successfully didn’t hit a kangaroo or drive off a cliff – BUT – we ended up seeing a massive dead kangaroo on the side of the road.

And so this post doesn’t end with a picture of a dead kangaroo I’ll throw in a few more pictures of the different sites we stopped at.

All in all, driving along the Great Ocean Road was such a great experience for me and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting or living in Australia! So that’s all I have for now, thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed a few of the pictures I had the privilege to take!

Back with more adventures soon,

Amy xx
